u can sand it off
if you wanna take it down to the metal cover anything you dont want harmed (like glass and plastic) and apply aircraft coating remover. wear thick gloves and a mask. if you dont want to use that approach just sand it with 80 or 100 grit sandpaper. go over it with 220 then 320. your ready to start priming and painting
(id go with the sanding, aircraft coating remover can screw things up)
…it can be removed manually using a sander or grinder…or you can use a chemical stripper that peels the paint off…either one can be a little tricky if you’ve never done it, so you may want to get help…
