Improve your intake and exhaust.
Put in a K and N setup or something similiar.
As for the exhause, usually going 1/2″ over stock size is best; and you don’t have to have a loud muffler just because you put on new piping; the Kand N will be loud enough.
And I’m sure there are TONS of Mustang websites out there. Just do a Google search for Mustang fan sites.
seeing as you have your own car I assume your 16+ which means you won’t be living under your parents house for long. save up for a new exhaust system once you move out.
BUT for the meantime you can get a new intake,headers,supercharger(if you want a huge power increase and money to blow and if they make one idk if they do
) get a new fan to cool the engine down better.
Some things you can do on the cheap, would be a flexi-fan, you could also do Underdrive pulleys, Ignition upgrades, Ford’s TFI ignitions were always a bit weak, think about upgrading to a Accell or MSD Ignition module and Coil. You can swap out a intake in a couple hours, it’s pretty self explanatory.If you did all of these including swapping out your air filter to a K&N or equivalent you should be able to see about a 20% power increase.

The best way to improve performance on a car that is restricted from the factory is to replace the restrictive factory components with better performing aftermarket pieces. For your car, without doing an exhaust system, I would do the following:
